Laddie’s Legacy was founded in honor of Laddie, a cherished Maine Coon whose gentle spirit and unconditional love inspired a mission of compassion. Laddie touched the lives of everyone he met, and his memory now fuels our purpose: to give other families the gift of more time, more memories, and more love with their pets.
What began as a tribute to one special cat has grown into a community movement, uniting veterinarians, pet lovers, and donors who share the belief that every pet deserves a fighting chance.
Our Mission
To provide financial assistance for life-saving veterinary care, preventing economic euthanasia and keeping pets with the families who love them.
We partner directly with veterinary professionals to support urgent cases in which treatment is needed, the prognosis is positive, and finances are the only barrier to care. Our hearts want to say “yes” to every request, but resources are limited. We thoughtfully select cases where our assistance can provide the best chance for a positive outcome.
Laddie was more than a hospital pet—he was a source of comfort, joy, and unconditional love. He spent his days spreading happiness throughout Absecon Veterinary Hospital, offering calm companionship everyday. His legacy of kindness and emotional support touched countless hearts, and it’s that legacy that continues through the work we do today.
When Laddie crossed the rainbow bridge, we knew his impact couldn’t end there. His loss sparked a mission rooted in compassion: to help families keep their pets during their most difficult moments. Too many loving pet owners face heartbreaking decisions simply because they cannot afford unexpected, urgent veterinary care. We created Laddie’s Legacy to change that.
This foundation was built to honor Laddie’s spirit by spreading more of the love he gave so freely. Today, we provide financial assistance for life-saving treatment so that pets get the chance to heal and return home—where they belong.
